Day Nine: ‘Punctuation Blues’

April 12, 2015

Who are you in the red car?
Who are you on the street?
Who are as you perch in line
for hot dogs at the cart?
Who is it at the front door?
Who’s calling on your cell?
Who is it in the mist of yesterday
and evermore?
What are these worthless words
that fly screaming from a screen?
Who out of us will keep the rhythm
steady like metronomes?
Page breaks and the line breaks,
the paragraphs and commas —
punctuation blues
here in our thesaurus homes.
