Day Eleven: ‘I Will Listen To This Heavy Noise’

April 12, 2015

I will listen to this heavy noise
and turn on the couch to eat your scowl
because your lightness cannot understand it.
You are not dense enough to drop with me
as the massive tinnitic waves blast and burn
like apocalypse sirens. I will listen to this
until the mechanisms in my ears
are rotten as apples in garbage piles
and the moon is my only light
and cars are dainty as feathers
because the sound is more massive than all else.
A black hole of clamoring yell-pedal bursts,
the twisting music wraps itself in me
and I in it. We hug like brothers.
This heavy noise — you on the bed now, laughing —
has risen the screamer inside you. Follow it.
